Anecdotes by medical practitioners

"A woman came in for a baby check with her 6-month-old and she had what looked like chocolate milk in the baby’s bottle. So he started explaining to her as kindly as he could that she shouldn’t be giving her baby chocolate milk. At which point she interrupts him and says, ‘Oh that isn’t chocolate milk. It’s coffee! He just loves it!”

"I had a patient come in for an STD check. She was very upset and continued to tell me that she only had one partner. Progressing through my assessment, she further divulged that even if he was sleeping with other people it shouldn’t matter ‘because he uses a condom every time and he makes sure to wash it thoroughly after every use’.”

"Had a lady who measured her baby’s temperature by pre-heating the oven and putting one hand in front of it while the other hand was on the baby’s forehead. She told the nurse her baby’s fever was about 250 degrees.”

"Lady has to have foot amputated and is given waiver forms to sign pre-op. Buddy asks if she needs time to think about it. She’s very nonchalant and doesn’t seem to care much what they do. He gets suspicious and probes a bit as to why she’s not more concerned. She says she gets that they have to operate and it’s OK because the foot will grow back.”

"I had a couple who had been trying to conceive for over two years. I asked all the usual questions, how often do you have sex, any previous pregnancy, etc etc. Something seemed off to me during the consult, so I continued to ask questions. Finally I asked if he ejaculated while inserted into the vagina. Both parties looked confused.Turns out the couple was not having insertional sex at all. I had to awkwardly explain to them how insertional sex works. Diagrams were required.”

"Patient comes in, she’s upset. She’s pregnant, and she doesn’t understand why. She’s on the pill. Upon talking to her at great length, I find out that she only takes the pills on the days that she is sexually active – no other time.”

"Patient comes in with her bf. They are indignant, as if somehow I could’ve prevented [the pregnancy]. The problem? Well, the pills were bothering the girl’s stomach, so, being a gallant bf, he decided to start taking them instead.”

“I was explaining the treatment to the husband of a patient about to be discharged. He kept nodding and agreeing with me, but I knew it was flying over his head. Turned out a fundamental problem was that I was describing the drugs as ‘tablets’ and he had no clue what those were.”

Reddit thread

i just want you to stop and think about how some of these stories reflect the state of our nation’s sexuality education.

Jesus fucking christ.

Reading the Reddit thread is simultaneously hilarious, infuriating, and heartbreaking.

to buy or not to buy…?

I was thinking of getting the Samsung Google Chromebook or the HP Google Chromebook. but I am not sure if its the right one for me.Here is some info about me…

- my current computer is Dell Inspiron 1545 WINDOWS 7 (currently dying with hard drive problems. its slow, no longer charging but still fully works)

- I am a college student I major in English. so which means i do a lot of research, writing and reading.

- looking for something light weight to take with me.

- when I am not in school my computer is mostly used for web browsing, watching youtube videos, poking on Tumblr, streaming anime and listening to music.

- I currently use Google Chrome web browser on my computer and my lg g2 phone.

- in school, I usually only bring my computer is planning on doing research, printing something, or typing something up for class. If I need to transfer files I use a flash drive. my school uses Mac computers and PC computers (I believe these are Windows 7 or 8 using Microsoft office programs) which I know the Google Chromebooks lack but I know there is an online version of this and my Dell has Office on it.

I am usually online either at home or at school knowing that this computer needs to be online at all times to do certain things.

so my question is based on the things that I put is this Chromebook a good choice for me. I do NOT want windows 8.

I was looking at the Samsung Chromebook which is $279 or the HP Chromebook 14 which is $349 at walmart

Robin Williams was the funniest man to ever live. It was truly a blessing to have grown up on and to have been surrounded by his work as a child. In my life Robin Williams was a constant source of happiness, laughter, and joy. I seriously feel like I’ve lost a close family member; I don’t even know what to say… Robin, thanks so much for all the laughter!

The life you lived, and the work you’ve done, will always be remembered. I look forward to the day I can share in the laughter of your films with my own kids. May you rest in peace.

okay today i learned that apparently the penis has a say in whether or not a child will be a boy or a girl

female sperm swims slower than male sperm, but the males can’t swim for as long as the females. this means that a long penis will be closer to the egg when releasing the sperm, and there will be a higher chance for the child to be a boy.

so in conclusion

if you have a lot of sons you have a big dick
